Overview

Enjoy an exciting 3 days Samburu Safari, which gives you a chance to visit Samburu National Reserve, which stands as one of the most beautiful Kenya Parks in Northern Circuit. It holds the most indigenous wildlife such as Grevy’s Zebra, Gerenuk, Reticulated Giraffe, Somali Ostrich, Besia Oryx, Endangered Wild Dog and Pun cake Tortoise – Endangered as well as the home of African Elephants. This tour start and ends in Nairobi and using quality mid range safari lodges or tented camps. The tour includes road transport from Nairobi with upto four private game drives in the reserve. The trip may also include extra options such as nature walks or cultural visit within the area. Full day game drives can be had at no extra charge for the second day of the itinerary in Samburu.

Itinerary

Distance: 360 km (5 hrs, 30 min.). Pick up from your hotel at 7am. Drive north through cultivations of sisal and pineapple to the northern frontier district and on to Samburu National Reserve. Afternoon game drive in this reserve famous for its exclusive game viewing. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Serena Lodge or Samburu Lodge or Sarova Shaba Lodge or Samburu Sopa Lodge, L,D.

Full day of game viewing drives in this dry semi-arid park with its striking background view of the Mathew's Range. The gently flowing Uaso Nyiro river which traverses this Park provides evergreen vegetation for the rare gerenuk, Grevy zebra and reticulated giraffe found in this park.
